Weather wise, Fort Myers offers idyllic conditions for any activity. In April and May, the area is balmy. The summer months of June through September, it is hot and humid, but still enjoyable as the breeze from the ocean cools off the region. For the rest of the year, Fort Myers and area is mild and sunny. As with all good things a little rain must fall - the rainiest time of year being June through September with lots of short term showers and thunderstorms leaving the average number of days in the summer without rain totalling fifteen. Late summer is hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico and the winter months, when it is drier with less humidity and almost perfect temperatures, is the optimal time to enjoy southwest Florida's weather.
